One to Watch

How do you make a birthday card for a watch fanatic?
Step 1: Take apart a broken and unfixable watch
Step 2: Mount pieces on 3D sticky black pads and emboss the whole thing with clear embossing powder
Step 3: Cut our cog shapes from complementary coloured card and add texture
Step 4: put it all together!

Problem Solved!

I have recently been having trouble with gloss embossing.
Turns out that using glue instead of ink does not give a gloss effect, but it does give a wonderful water one!

To create the card topper I stamped the image onto a sheet of tracing paper and coloured onto the reverse with watercolour pencils. I then glued onto the areas I wanted to look like water and clear gloss embossed it. Being very careful not to melt or bubble the paper!
Press inside a book or clear embossing plates to flatten out. Repeat once or twice more.
And voilĂ !
